Knock, Knock

Brody: Knock, Knock
Me: Who's there?
Brody: Orange.
Me: Orange who?
Brody: Orange banana! (Throws his head back laughing!)
Brody: Knock, Knock.
Me: Who's there?
Brody: Froggy
Me: Froggy who?
Brody: Froggy head! (Cracks himself up!)
Brody tells knock, knock jokes all the time! He thinks he is just hilarious and so do we! Where did he learn to tell jokes? His big sister of course! Last night as I was pulling on his jammies, he told one where the punch line was "mamahead". What a clown! He loves to make people laugh!

Beans, the magical toy
I have a container of beans that I pull out for the kids to play with. I love it! "Beans" allows the kids to use their fine motor skills, mathmatical reasoning, cognitive skills, language, and more. In our bean container I mixed lima, kidney, navy, and popcorn. That was a random add-in because I had it in its own place but it was getting to be to many containers! This day I pulled it out for the cousins and they all went to town!
Take a moment to stop and smell the flowers

Building a Fort
On Saturday mornings, I am in a special program called Apples of Gold. Ryan takes care of the kids for three and half hours (Whew!) each week. He is so awesome to do that for me..us. Anyway, one Saturday he build a fort with them and took pictures! Cute eh? Notice the use of curtains...very creative!

I'm a Mess
I am a mess. Change is sometimes difficult for me. Although I strive to be flexible, I still am not a huge fan of change...unless it is furniture/paint/decorating but that is another post. I digress...today it really hit me that a huge change is coming in just a few months. Makena will be entering kindergarten and our lives are going to immensely change. She will be at different a school than some of her closest friends and it just break my heart to think that those friendships may change. (Perhaps because I am so close to the moms and I do not want to see those friendships change...) Anyway, a former co-worker once said this to me regarding preschool and the future, "Now is the time when you may choose a different route than your good friends. School is an area where you have to do what is best for Makena and that may not be the same things as what your friends choose for their kids." Ahh...so true..although really all of my friends have choosen the same things thus far. Anyway, for today, I am a mess.

It's raining, It's pouring...
and I am supposed to go to the big D with three girlfriends for a friends birthday...bummer...I am praying that the rain stops so we can go and have a great time! Although, the reality is that no matter what happens we will have a blast because we always do!!! :)
UPDATE: We had a fantastic time! I have been so blessed to have great friends in my life. We rode the adult rides that I can't go on with my kids or at least Brodes. We watched Fantasmic and talked for hours. I think that because we do not all work together anymore and therefore do not see each other frequently, we truly cherish our time together. I will post some pictures later! Thanks girls!!!

Gymnastics
Makena and Brody are both in gymnastics once a week. Makena has taken gymnastics for awhile and just loves it! Brody and I do the parent tot gymnastics and have been doing that since October. Both of the kids love the trampoline and bars! I love gymnastics and think it is wonderful for the kids. Secretly I wish they had a class for adults!!!
