What is this?

Thanks to Ryan and my parents, Brody thinks it is funny to crawl under our picnic table and stick his fingers in the umbrella hole. When he first did this, we all laughed and grabbed at his tiny fingers. But, then I realized that one day, his whole hand could get stuck in there and we would have to call the fire department to come and break it apart safely to remove his hand. Glass would be every where. Brody would be traumatized. I would no longer have a picnic table to eat on outside. So we started trying to discourage this game. So far, so good. If I have to call 911, I'll let you know.

Blowing Bubbles

I was trying out a new setting on my camera and had Makena blow some bubbles for me. I am not sure about that setting!

Gardening

This year we are growing carrots, cucumbers, strawberries, and soon we will be adding pumpkins to the mix. I like to "garden". I am not that good but I think the vegetables taste so much better fresh and it is pretty easy! Someday I can see myself having a little garden plot but alas, not until we have more room. :)

Mommy and Makena Day at Disneyland

We had an amazing day at Disneyland. Makena met lots of princesses, had her face painted, rode big kid rides like thunder railroad, and ate lunch at Ariel's Grotto. We both loved it!

Patch Club

Makena started patch therapy about a month ago. She wears a pretty purple patch over her left eye to strengthen her right eye. Patch therapy is 2 hours a day, 4 times a week. In the beginning she would get very tired but now she is doing better. Our goal, the eye dr. and us, is to stop her right eye from turning in. I am hoping it works!!
Update...she had to miss a week of patch therapy while the lab redid one of her lenses to fit in the frame better. Now her lense stays in place but it caused a big set back with her eye turn. It is frusturating.

Shhhh...it's a suprise!!

I am taking this little cutie pie on a suprise princess inspired Disney day on Sunday. It is going to be all about the princess and riding the rides of her choice. It's going to be just Makena and Mommy...m's and m's! Oh, I can't wait!

Giggle time with Papa

My dad is a kid person. He loves kids and loves playing silly games...perfect for the grandchildren. The night before my parents were leaving for Michigan, I snapped these photos. Pure bliss!

Sweet and Innocent...

One morning after playing hard for a while Brody asked to watch a DVD of music and singing. I put it on and went into my room to fold the clean clothes. (I like to use my bed.) Well, after 15 minutes, I realized that I hadn't heard from him. I went out to the family room and he was peacefully sleeping on the couch! "Oh, how sweet and innocent." I thought to myself. I just had to take a picture because he has never fallen asleep on the couch before. I was about to get my camera when I paused for a second and took a closer look at my sleeping boy...what is on the armrest of my couch? Look for yourself...yep, apparently, my sweet and innocent little two year was not being so innocent when he took pen and wrote all over the armrest! I started laughing and grabbed the camera. After taking the picture, I looked for the pen but never found it. Perhaps, he hid it and is just waiting to pull it out when I least expect it and begin his masterpiece again.

Happy Birthday Brody! Brody turned two on April 22. We had a little family party with a train theme for him. I had a six kids there so I gave each of them a cupcake with a candle in it and then gave Brody one with lots of candles in it! They all loved it!

Inspiration

I was inspired to change my blog and start posting again! Perhaps it was the warm weathr that inspired me to get ready for summer and get all of my picutres on my blog so that I am all caught up. Easter Pictures

Egg Hunt

My mom and I took Makena and Brody down to the clubhouse area for the annual egg hunt in our community! They had so much fun finding eggs. Makena's age group completed the whole hunt in about 2 minutes! One of her friend's did not get many eggs so Makena shared an egg with her. It was very sweet.

Easter Eggs

This is first year we have ever dyed easter eggs. M had a blast dipping the eggs into the containers of dye and taking them out! It was so fun that next year I am going to do 2 dozen eggs!

Ang and my dad have a special bond...fishing. Each year they hop on board a boat and head out on the Pacific for a day of fishing. Now, I have been invited a time or two but have never gone until this year. I joined my dad and his cousin for a day of fishing. It was so beautiful out there and we each caught a few!

Daddy Night at Preschool

Makena and Ryan headed to her preschool for a special night of arts and crafts! She loved the one on one time with just her and Daddy. They went for ice cream afterwards and she was in heaven!

I am so behind in pictures and postings. I blame it all on the way my computer is set up now. It is not fun to post standing up by the corner of my bed trying to balance the keyboard and mouse on my bedframe...grrr...anyway.
