I love the beach in winter. A warm gentle breeze blows, the sun feels amazing, and the beach is wide open. A couple of weeks ago Ryan and I took the kids to the beach for a few hours. It was pure joy! We packed a picnic lunch, sand toys, and bathing suits. The temperature was 75 degrees and not a cloud in the sky. The ocean was freezing but the kids didn't seem to mind. They splashed at the water's edge and jumped in the waves. Ryan and Makena made a hopscotch in the sand and we all dug holes! Walking along the ocean's edge, we found tiny sea creatures and a crab. We had a wonderful family day!

you long for snow and I long for the beach!!!! Go figure. I look at these beach pics and sigh and pout my lip. I miss it but will be in it in 33 days. But who is counting...
What a great idea! We never think to go to the beach any time other than summer. It looks like you had a great time!
