Snow Envy

I am having snow envy...well, I was having snow envy. I haven't taken M and B to the snow yet. My goal this winter was to drive on up to Big Bear and spend a day playing in the snow. I thought they would love to build a snowman, make a snow angel, and play with sand toys in the snow. I feel like they are missing out on a key aspect of winter. I long for them to spend hours playing in the snow. Well, it hasn't happened yet and I am not sure it is going to happen. I have to find all of these snow items: mittens for M, snow pants for both, boots for M, snow things for me. Have I done this? No. Ok, so here is where the was comes in to play. I remember the effort it takes to get dressed to go out in the snow and the issues with going to the bathroom. I remember being trapped inside because it is too cold. But I was going to "forget" all that because I wanted the snow. Then a winter storm hit CA and I was trapped in the house all day yesterday because of the rain. By 3 O'clock I was ready to get out of the house. I decided that maybe I did like being able to pretty much go outside year round and not have to mess with tons of clothes. So I was over the whole snow thing...until this morning. I was driving and saw a rainbow in the sky. Then I saw the snow covered mountains with the sun highlighting them and it hit me all over again. Snow envy! I want to play in the snow with my kids. :)
