Poor Brodes

Brody caught M's cold and is just so miserable. The poor little guy woke up in the night and threw up. :( Then this morning he kept crying and batting his ear. He did not want to nurse or be rocked. Then he threw up again. :( I called the DR and got an appt to check him out. I am annoyed that the FDA pulled all infant drugs as you already know. FYI They may pull all meds for 2-6 years old next year according to a DR in our practice. I think this time I will stock up.

Sorry to hear he is sick! I hope you all feel better soon! I can't believe that they pulled all of those meds. They worked wonders for us all (people who can read) to give to our sick kids. I hope they don't pull the 2-6 year olds meds. Maybe it is a trick to get us into the Dr. more and have to PAY A TON for a scrip from them. HUMMM you have to wonder these days.

So they pull all of the meds, they are trying to pull vitamins and alternative meds... hmmm... maybe we are just going to have to start drying herbs and berries to make our own "remedies!" Got to love the FDA!
Try the ear drops - they really are soothing. You can also lay a damp, warm washcloth on his ear to help some of the pain.
Kiss him and hug him for me - crazy how both of our boys are so sick at the same time thousands of miles away:(

Try elevating his mattress by putting a pillow under the part where his head is. It will help the pressure so his little ears don't hurt as much.

I was thinking of heading to Canada to try to buy meds.... :) Oh wait, I don't have a passport...remember the 80's and 90's when we could just hope in our car and head to Canada for the day? Lori, what were the ear drops called again?

Herbs for kids is the brand. It is the garlic/willowbark drops. My pediatrician actually sells it in her office. I am taking Nicholas in tomorrow as he still has a fever - ugh!

I use those ear drops by herbs for kids. They worked great. I never had to even go the antibiotic route w/ them. I also gave Easton this cruched up pill called garlician. I put it in his baby food vegtables to disguise it. It worked wonders. I got both at Henry's or Trader Joe's. Also putting 4 drops of breastmilk in his ear 4 times a day helps too. I know it is weird but breastmilk is the wonder drug. When you do the drops put in both ears not just hte one infected. I don't remember you saying if only one is or not.
