The count down is on!

Hi Everyone! Only 11 days until Christmas! We are getting very excited to see our family! Tonight Makena and I got stuck in major traffic. It took an hour to get from my daycare providers home to my house. (It normally takes about 15 minutes.) I tried to be sneaky and take back roads but realized that everyone else was doing that too. I was late from work, hungry, hoping that the chicken had defrosted in the fridge, and stuck going 2 mph with a toddler who is getting fussier by the minute. So what do I do when I am stuck in traffic? Well, I sing songs and play peek-a-boo/this little piggy until my throat is hoarse and my arm is tired from reaching into the back seat. I aslo use my cell phone to call Ryan and let Makena play with it. Who knows who she called! :) We finally made it home and my awesome husband, who had been stuck in traffic going in the other way, had sandwiches and soup ready for us. It was such a good warm meal. As I filled Ryan in on the traffic he commented that it was because of a fatality crash that was being investigated on the freeway by our house. As I looked at my daughter and husbanad, I realized that even though I spent over an hour in traffic at least we were all safe and together. And that is the best Christmas present! Merry Christmas!
